ProCura
is a virtual network organization whose members are laboratories
of Portuguese research institutions of
excellence or renowned universities.
The network aims at bringing together these Portuguese laboratories
to share their expertise and facilities to form a collaborative
platform on the functional proteomics technology, in order
to contribute to the understanding of gene function in the
post-genomic era.

Portuguese Proteomics Network – ProCura- has recently
joined The European Proteomics Association (EuPa).
This EuPa integration requires us to ask our members
to update their contacts.

2nd
EU Summer School in Proteomic Basics
The 2nd European Summer School in Proteomic
Basics - Protein identification- Mass spectrometry"
takes place from 13.07. - 19.07.2008 at Kloster
Neustift (Brixen/Bressanone, South Tyrol, Italy). The summer
school is designed to provide an insight into the basics of
state-of-the-art protein analytic techniques for graduate
students and young post-doctoral workers.

Call
for Candidates for the EuPA Young Investigator Prize (PhD)
The European Proteomics
Association hereby announces a call for candidates for
the EuPA Young Investigator Prize to be awarded at the
HUPO2008 7th World Congress in Amsterdam (16–20
August 2008). At HUPO2008, a special session will be dedicated
to presentations which will be given by the four finalists
selected from the submitted abstracts. Submission is open
now and closes at March 5th, 2008.
